This is good tutorial on sync’ing to active directories i need this soemtimes at work to get access to some samba shares because you generaly have to be authenticated before you will be able to acess the samba shares on a large network like SAP’s except printers… hmmm though they are available via samba to cups

So yeah it comes on to i really want to thank the BELFAST LUG so much! Because i have been getting alot of support from everyone and yeah! My decision is in my email below
So yeah i posted my thoughts and decision on the blug mailing list earlier
Hey
Thanks for your replies guys i have made my decision but yeah just let me clarify on:
Why do you dislike theoretical stuff so much though? That’s what
computer science is about, and why it’s not called ‘computer
programming’ instead, and coding isn’t really something to be taught
formally anyway. It’s just generally a trendy thing I think, to dis
theoretical stuff, or at least that’s what I notice.
Its not that i dislike theoretical stuff.. I mean i did Group theory! You cant really get that much more abstract talking about sets of numbers that cant exist etc. I enjoy that stuff

But at Queens in the computer sicince dept you dont touch on actual proper stuff like! I mean there is a difference between learning off paragraphs of turd and writing it in an exam than actually having to get your head around complex data structures and software implementations. Or other software design and hardware design etc.
But queens doesnt touch on this. Anyways Mathematics department is ok for that stuff i guess. But yeah i guess i just chose alot of wrong modules for me last year because i do Pure maths and applied maths and my advisor of studies is Applied maths i didnt choose the right computer science modules i should have done some kind of project based ones anyways.
I have got it sorted with queens that i am going back in september now. But i am doing like half a year 3 modules to fix up my 2nd year with the 3 modules i didnt like and doing 2 different ones and repeating one i should have done better in. And this means i could either try for a sys admin job or work on launchpad alot in the spare time. And my own projects Then i will be ready for the final year and i can do my final project on my OS or a game thing i have in mind aparently so some lecturers say anyways

So yeah i think this should be ok it probably works out best. Becayse i think i will just be annoyed if i leave it and i could have finished it and be done with it!
Thanks loads its just i dont really have many people i can have a sersious discusion with this
